"The moment I walked into Bloomingdale Horizon, I felt confident that my mother would be very comfortable living here. I immediately liked the setting and brightness. The building is so cheerful and upbeat. I was also impressed with the landscaping and courtyard area. All in all, it has been a very pleasant experience. Bloomingdale Horizon is centrally located close to the area stores and banks my mother likes to frequent. As they say, location, location, location. Ellen, the building manager, makes everyone feel very welcome and is most helpful answering any and all questions. The other residents make you feel at home and actually watch out for each other, which puts my mind at ease about my mother being at such a wonderful place."

"My mom had to sell the house she lived in for 30+ years, located in a beautiful neighborhood with nice neighbors who had connected over the years. As one would expect, she was hesitant about moving into a one-bedroom apartment. However, my sister and I kept telling her the apartment itself is only where she would eat and sleep and that the rest of the building is your extended living area. Bloomingdale Horizon is everything we wanted for our mom – it is bright and beautiful. Additionally, we like the variety of activities that are offered to meet the interests of all of the residents, and there are plenty of places just to sit and talk. Ellen, the property manager, is definitely a bonus. She is a friend to all of the residents and their families. Our mom started meeting the other residents and making friends and realized she had found her new HOME."

"Life at Bloomingdale Horizon is all about being social and making new friends. The residents who participate in the planned activities have found many common bonds with their new neighbors, from selling their homes and losing a spouse, to moving to a new neighborhood to be closer to their children. They have left the solitude of living alone in their own homes and now walk down the hall to visit with each other – they will never be alone again. Everyone has formed new friendships, and some have even reconnected with old friends from the past."

"As a former employee of the Village of Bloomingdale, I am well aware of the quality health facilities operated by Alden in our town. Bloomingdale Horizon is the 7th Alden facility to open in this village, and I can say I have always found Alden to be a caring, professional and courteous company. All of its facilities are clean, well managed and safe as well as operated by competent, caring and pleasant staff.
My two aunts, who are 88 and 90 years of age, just moved into Bloomingdale Horizon. We are all pleased with the living conditions at this wonderful facility. There is a friendly, warm and collaborative relationship among all of the residents. And, best of all, Management goes out of its way to keep their senior residents happy that they chose Bloomingdale Horizon as their new residence. I am most pleased with the newest Alden facility to open in Bloomingdale."

"Old Town Bank & Trust of Bloomingdale is located on the corners of Lake Street and Rosedale Avenues, just across the street from Bloomingdale Horizon. As a neighbor, we have entered into a partnership with Bloomingdale Horizon. After just a brief conversation with Building Manager Ellen Currie, we decided to establish a relationship with Bloomingdale Horizon and its residents – in fact, we are now on a first-name basis with many of them. In September, we were invited to talk about Bank Finances and realized that the residents wanted to hear about other financial topics. At that initial presentation, we also found out that the residents really needed on-site service at Bloomingdale Horizon. Consequently, we come to the building every week to offer personalized financial services, which the residents and our staff actually enjoy. Our partnership has not only afforded us the opportunity to meet great people but also gives us an opportunity to give back to our local community."
